A Téléimages 2011 production, directed by Monica Maaten, with Daniel Dubuis as storyboard supervisor. Great team, great stuff. It’s a pity that preproduction of this series so girly (horses and love all around) lasted only a few months, because I would have spent a whole year without hesitation, so cool was to work there. Everybody hates drawing horses and I happen to love it! Cherry on the cake: I had the honor of storyboarding the Opening titles sequence.

Dommage que la préproduction de cette serie girly (chevaux et amourettes de partout) seulement a duré quelques mois car j’aurai passé volontiers un an, voir plus, tellement cool était. Tout le monde semble détester dessiner des chevaux mais moi j’adore! La cérise sur le gateau été avoir l’honeur de dessiner le board du generique.

FOX

I’ve been accompanied by a Fox for the last months of the Little Prince series and now that my work is done I realize I will miss this little animal. Just a cartoonised version, definitely not the one that appears on the series. Thanks a lot to director Pierre-Alain Chartier and the crew at METHOD!

J’ai été accompagné d’un renard pour ces derniers mois de la série « Le Petit Prince », et maintenant que mon boulot est fini, je me rends compte que ce petit animal va me manquer. C’est juste une version cartoonisé, rien à voir avec l’original qui apparaît dans la série. Merci beaucoup au réalisateur Pierre-Alain Chartier et l’équipe à  METHOD !

A BRAND NEW LIFE

Sketch inspired by the 2009 marvellous film “A brand new life”, directed by Ounie Lecomte. Loosely based on Leconte’s own life experience, A brand new life is set in Seoul in 1975 and is about a 7 year old girl, Jin-hee, who is left in an all-girls Catholic orphanage by her father, and her struggle to adjust to her new lot in life.

Ébauche inspirée par le superbe film “Une vie toute neuve”, réalisé par Ounie Lacomte. Basé partialement sur la propre expérience de vie de la réalisatrice, “Une vie toute neuve” se déroule à Seoul en 1975 et traite le sujet d’une fille, Jin-hee, qui est abandonnée à 7 ans dans un orphelinat catholique par son père, et ses combats pour s’adapter à cette nouvelle étape de sa vie

The books series created by Gemma Lienas turned into an animation project with my full graphic creation that I directed in 2003 at CROMOSOMA. Gemma Lienas and myself presented this project at the Forum Cartoon in Varèse that year. A CROMOSOMA and Edicions 62 production.

La série de livres créée par Gemma Lienas s’est converti en projet de série d’animation avec ma création graphique, que j’ai dirigé en 2003 à CROMOSOMA. Gemma Lienas et moi-même, nous avons présenté ce projet au Forum Cartoon à Varèse cette année là. Une production de Cromosoma et Edicions 62.

Last month, I had diner at home with friends and the 10 year old son of one of the guests treated us with a little show on Michael Jackson’s “Beat it!”. Cutest thing ever, I got immediately the idea for this ilustration.

BTW, today it would have been Michael’s birthday...

Le mois dernier, J’ai eu des amis invités pour diner et le fils de 10 ans d’une des invités nous a offert un petit show sur le “Beat it!” de Michael Jackson. Plus mignon impossible, J’ai tout suite eu l’idée pour cette ilustration.

D’ailleurs, aujourd’hui aurait été l’anniversaire de Michael…

A graphic development image created for the film project of « The triplets » called « The day the world goes around three times », executed probably around 2000 at CROMOSOMA. Unfortunatedly, Oriol Ivern, owner of Cromosoma, died of a cancer last month. RIP and thanks Oriol for all the opportunities you’ve given us.

Une planche de développement graphique créées pour le projet de film des  « Les trois petites sœurs » qui s’appelait « Le jour où le monde tourna trois fois », réalisé probablement l'année 2000 à CROMOSOMA. Malheureusement, Oriol Ivern, PdG de Cromosoma, est decedé d’un cancer le mois dernier. RIP et merci beaucoup Oriol pour toutes les opportunités que tu nous as donnés.

TO SQUEEZE OR NOT TO SQUEEZE

Improvised illustration between two storyboards. I promised myself not to use lively colors or smooth color degradations, but again it's an epic fail.
